Texans unhealthiest people in America
A study by one of America’s leading coupon code websites of more than 6,300 people has revealed that Texans are the most likely to have a poor diet and are the least likely to exercise regularly.
Research by one of America’s leading coupon code websites has found that Texans are the least active people in America; whilst people from New York State have been found to be the most active.
According to a study by www.CouponCodes4U.com of 6,310 people, just 16% of Texans meet the recommended American exercise guidelines of half-an-hour of moderate exercise, five times a week.
People from Alabama state were the next most unhealthy, with just 1 in 5 meeting national activity guidelines.
With reference to the 5 A Day for Better Health Government campaign, CouponCodes4U.com asked the respondents, “How many of your five fruit and vegetables do you think you consume a day?” a fifth, 18%, of Texans said they ate the recommended amount – compared to the healthiest eating state, Pennsylvania, where more than three fifths, 63%, admitted to eating the recommended amount.

Mark Pearson, managing director of CouponCodes4U.com had the following to say,
“Government initiatives are fantastic, but perhaps not as deep-reaching as they need to be. People are leaving gyms, eating processed meals and fast food more regularly and generally becoming less active. It’s because, on the whole, people are saying that they can’t afford to eat healthily, or stay fit.
“With many gyms and health clubs offering corporate discounts, employers should do all they can to take advantage. The obesity epidemic in the West is showing no signs of slowing down, so if there’s any way our website can help people save money on staying healthy, we’d be happy to.”
